The Center for the Integration of Spirituality & Mental Health, Inc. believes the faith community has an important role to play in decreasing stigma associated with mental illness, identifying people in need and connecting them to services. While many faith groups are already involved in mental health efforts, others are in the process of deciding on a comfortable level of participation.  The World Council of Churches has partnered with CISMH to promote this important service initiative. Both organizations would like to help faith organizations integrate a mental health wellness message into their services.

Toward that goal, during the weekend of October 3-5, 2008 the first Annual Mental Wellness Promotion Service was held.  We asked all faith groups to set aside one service during the weekend to participate in this endeavor to promote mental health wellness in their congregations. From these humble beginnings we hope to grow a mental wellness movement in the faith community.

The second Annual Mental Wellness Promotion Service will be observed on October 2-4, 2009.

We hope you will take a moment to peruse our toolkit designed to help you get started crafting your mental wellness message.  If you are ready to get started download the toolkit and click here to download the CISMH partner agreement.
